Hey!
I'm Shanava.
Who Am I?
I'm a digital architect for mission-driven organizations — nonprofits, churches, and small teams — helping them build the systems, data infrastructure, and operational backbone they need to scale their impact with strategy, not just hustle.
On a more personal note....
Before we get into the resume side of things — a little about me as a person. In my free time, you'll typically find me with a book and a highlighter (probably something on business, self-help, or a devotional, with the occasional mystery, thriller, or romance novel mixed in). I love traveling, getting too invested in a new Netflix or Hulu series, and falling down YouTube rabbit holes on home organizing. I am actively involved in ministry and love getting hands-on with service projects alongside my friends and family. If you catch me outside of work, I'm probably at church, with my nieces, or spending time with my Husband.
How I Got Here
It started small. During my first year as a high school math teacher, I launched Saint Tutoring as a side project — just a way to do more of what I already loved. Within months, demand outgrew what I could handle alone, and I found myself building a team, a structure, and eventually a real company. That experience — turning a simple idea into something that could scale — is what first taught me to think in systems.
She MATHS
That same instinct led me to found She MATHS (She Moves Around Trials & Hurdles), a non-profit supporting Black women and girls — from high school through career retirement — centering academic excellence, professional development, life skills, and emotional wellness for women pursuing or working in STEM other math-related professions. Building She MATHS from the ground up gave me firsthand experience designing the kind of infrastructure — programs, data systems, operations — that I now help other organizations build.
What I Do Now
Today, that systems-thinking shows up everywhere I work. As an adjunct business professor and PhD student in Information Systems, my research sits at the intersection of data science, UX strategy, nonprofit strategy, and marketing. I'm especially passionate about equipping small nonprofits and faith-based organizations with the data tools and systems they need to make confident decisions in fundraising and program delivery. I get to live that out firsthand right now — supporting the operations and systems side of my own church's ministry — and I'd love to do the same for more organizations!
What Drives Me
Ultimately, I'm just a woman called to serve — with my mind, my voice, and my heart. Whether I'm building a dashboard for a nonprofit, teaching a class, or mentoring a teen girl in STEM, I aim to steward every opportunity well. I believe our gifts are meant to serve others, and I'm here to do just that — intentionally, faithfully, and joyfully.
